Cook Hill is a great alternative to Dog Mountain, but without the crowds,  and  the permits. Not the gobsmacking balsamroot display that Dog has, but still a delightful variety of flowers! We start at a small parking area on Cook-Underwood Road, and head up via old roads to trails through some meadows.  We'll have lunch in the meadow on the summit. https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Cook_Hill_Loop_Hike
