Activity Notes

Unicorn Peak is the tallest peak in the Tatoosh Range, nestled right up next to Mt Rainier to its south. It is a great post-BCEP climb involving snow travel, ice axe and crampon use through a steep couloir, and a short fifth class rock pitch with a rappel on the summit pinnacle.

Climb team members may join us at a campsite at Cougar Rock campground the night before the climb or drive up early on the morning of the climb. There may also be an opportunity to camp after the climb. Campsites are first come, first serve.

Additional costs: depending on how many people and cars we have at the campsite, camping will cost an additional $TBD per person. Vehicle entry into Mount Rainier National Park is $30 per car unless you have an America the Beautiful pass or another pass for entry. Please keep these costs in mind as they are not covered by the climb application fee.

Preference will be given to BCEP 2022 Team 11 Students and Assistants.
