This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

The Nehalem Divide Section Dog Friendly Hike

This is the third section of our Crown Zellerbach Trail Hikes.  We will meet at the Ruley Trailhead on Scappoose-Vernonia Road.

This section will be a little more challenging as the gravel road bed steepens and enters the Secondary Coast Range Woodland.  The trail continues to follow the North Scappoose Creek up to it's source and to where the Tunnel went through the Nehalem Divide. We will have lunch at the Nehalem Divide Trailhead and then hike back to the Ruley Trailhead.  The distance is 8.9 miles and 675 ft elevation Gain.  Leashed Well Trained Dogs are welcome, but you don't need a dog to attend.
