Activity Notes

North Scappoose Creek Section Dog Friendly Hike

This is the second section of the Crown Zellerbach Trail.  We will meet at the Pisgah Trailhead which is across the street from the B&B Market at 32284 Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy.

This part of the trail follows the Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy and North Scappoose Creek.  The Railroad grade trail is mixed asphalt and gravel which is wide and allows hikers, bicycle and horses.  From the trail, you can see rural dwellings  and sections of the creek as the trail gradually climbs into the hills.  We will pass the Bonnie Falls Trailhead at Walker Road and continue on the trail to the Ruley Trailhead where we will turn around and retrace our steps.  There is a portapotty at the Ruley Trailhead.  We will decide at that point whether to have lunch there or go back to Bonnie Falls for lunch.  The hike will be 9.8 miles round trip and 485 ft elevation gain. Well trained dogs on a leash are welcome, but you don't need a dog to attend.
