Activity Notes

The Crown Zellerbach Trail goes from Scappoose to Vernonia and runs 21 miles.  We will take it in sections.  The first section is the Scappoose Section and goes from the Chapman Landing Trailhead to the Pisgah Trailhead.  The trail is flat and a lot of it is paved.  It starts at the Multnomah Channel (Columbia River) where they dumped the logs.  Sauvies Island is on the other side of the Channel.  The trail goes through fields, wetlands and views of the Tualatin Mountains.  We are likely to see quite a few birds.  The trail crosses Hwy 30 and then continues through rural areas bordering the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway.  We will turn around at the Pisgah Trailhead. The B & B Market is across the street.  Distance will be approximately 8.4 miles.  Leashed Well Trained Dogs are welcome, but you don't need a dog to attend.

We will meet at the Chapman Landing Trailhead.  In Scappoose, turn right on Columbia Ave, which should take you to the Chapman Landing Trailhead.
