Spend Black Friday hiking at Silver Falls State Park in its quietest time of year. We will start at North Falls and visit nine of the ten falls along the Canyon Trail. We will take a short spur to Winter Falls on our return route. A benefit of a North Falls start is lunch inside South Falls Lodge, where we'll each enjoy our own Thanksgiving leftovers. Your hike leader has visited these falls countless times but enjoys sharing them with folks who are new to the magical place. That is, we'll be stopping often for photos. Before all hikes and climbs I lead, I draw attention to the indigenous peoples on whose ancestral lands we recreate. Folks who are fully vaccinated against COVID and who are willing to wear a mask in transit are welcome to join a carpool from the Tualatin Park & Ride just south of Lower Boones Ferry Road at 07:00. Others may choose to meet us at North Falls , where parking is FREE on "Green Friday." We'll gather to begin our hike at 08:15.
