The BCEP snow day field session is held in the gullies near Timberline Lodge. This day affords you the opportunity to practice snow skills such as movement on crampons, rope team travel, ice axe techniques, moving in balance, self-arrest, self-belay, as well as to observe snow anchors.

Activity Notes

Our day in the snow to practice everything from walking on crampons, working as a rope team, and snow safety.  Bring all gear including mountaineering boots, crampons, hiking poles, ice ax, harness, helmets, all climbing equipment (carabiner, belay device, slings and cordage).  Optional equipment can include avalanche transceiver, shovel, snow probe, snow pickets.  These will also be provided by volunteers.
