BCEP 2021 Team 08: Conditioning Hike Paradise Park

Activity Notes

Welcome to out third hike of the BCEP class.  We will start at the Paradise Park trailhead that begins off Rd. 39 just off of Hwy 26 (sorry the trailhead option didn't exist - exact trailhead details here: https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Paradise_Park_Trailhead).  There is plenty of space to practice skills, and this hike will also afford us a chance at gaining some elevation at altitude while in the snow.  Hopefully you are learning what kind of gear/clothing changes you need to be making for yourself.  Again we will have opportunities to practice some of the snow skills that we will be focused on learning the following day, so please also bring your Snow Day rental gear (ice axes, crampons, boots) in addition to the normal climbing gear so we can also practice rappelling and fixed line travel.   Are you beginning to see a pattern here with your required gear?  :P More optional learning opportunities will be discussed in-person for this weekend as well.
