With beautiful views, amazing spring wildflowers, and a relatively short effort, this is one of the most popular hikes in the Gorge. On a good day, you can get a view of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River.

Activity Notes

Fast hike up Dog Mountain via the northernmost trail and down via the Augspurger trail. There could still be crowds, so masks are in order. We'll also drive there separately and remain physically separate. Each vehicle will need to display a NW Forest Pass, but no other permits are required on a Thursday in late October. There may be a stiff wind.
