This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

Eastern Oregon sagebrush hike offering wildflowers and sweeping vistas of the east slope from Adams to the Three Sisters. The hike follows an old ranch road, but we will go cross country a short distance for views of the Deschutes River canyon. It’s a 2+ hour drive to the trailhead, so plan on a long day. 11 miles, 1000 ft. elevation, 240 drive miles.
