Activity Notes

Looking for a lot of bang for you bucks? Join AYM for three short hikes to spectacular destinations in the Gorge. We'll start at Wahclella Falls and hike to this most beautiful of Gorge waterfalls. After the short hike to the falls, we'll drive east to the Mitchell Point Trailhead and hike the steep trail up to the most spectacular viewpoint in this part of the Gorge. From there we'll drive further east to Mosier, where we will hike the newish Mosier Plateau Trail.

Plan on a fun day with a lot of photo opportunities, wildflowers, waterfalls and (hopefully) sunshine. Just the same, you should bring the 10 Essentials, trekking poles and clothing appropriate for any kind of weather.

Hikes: 7 miles out and back

Elevation gain: 2,200 feet

Drive: 70 minutes each way from Portland (120 miles round trip)

Please remember to bring cash for drivers ($7-10 should cover it) along with your raingear. We will not be stopping for food, so be sure to bring lunch or at least snacks. No dogs.
