Come along for a snowshoe during peak of the Geminids meteor shower. Views of Mt Hood with the winter night sky. 5.5 miles RT, 500'. Drive 124.<br> <br> Geminids are caused by a possible planetoid called 3200 Phaethon. The meteors are slow moving and intensify every year, recently reaching 160 per hour under optimal conditions. This year, we'll leave early to maximize the viewing window before moonrise.<br> <br> Required: Snowshoes and headlamp with red option + extra batteries. Sno-park permit required if driving.
