South Sister is the highest of the Three Sisters and is located in Central Oregon. This approach is from Green Lakes, and typically involves an overnight at the lakes. The climb is long, but not technical. Outstanding views from the summit.

Activity Notes

Wind down your summer climbing with an overnight in Three Sisters Wilderness  and a morning climb up the much less populated Green Lakes Route of South Sister.  We will hike into Green Lakes Saturday evening and camp along the scenic lakes at the saddle between South Sister and Broken Top.  Sunday morning we will leave camp and make our way up the slightly longer but more gradual summit of South Sister.  This area is going to permits next summer making this one of the final weekends to visit the area before the new system.  Great climb for beginners and those wanting their first glaciated peak.
