Activity Notes
This is a great Beginning-to-intermediate alpine rock climb for those who have experience and skills lead-belaying, cleaning trad gear, face and crack climbing techniques to at least 5.6, and rappelling. What: The 6-pitch Cosmic Wall route on Mt. Hubris, a.k.a. The Ogre. We'll camp at a reserved developed campsite Friday and Saturday nights. Plan to split the reservation cost, which is in addition to the application fee. Where: Castle Crags State Park in Northern California. When: Leave Portland on Friday June 28th around noontime, Camp at the Castle Crags State Park. Arise early Saturday morning to begin the Hike and Climb. Once the Climb is completed, we will return to the campsite for a group dinner. We will depart Sunday June 30th, late morning to Portland. Why: This is a great climb to put your newly acquired AR skills to the test. It is also great first multi pitch climb for a solid ICS graduate. May take a BCEp graduate if you have a good solid resume to submit with your application. Acknowledgement to Jesse Applegate for a portion of this text, which I completely stole, verbatim from his cancelled climb.Registration is Closed
