From the Opal Creek trailhead, hike through old growth forest to the old town of Jawbone Flats. Along the way you will see remnants of past mining activity. From Jawbone Flats, follow the Kopetski Trail to Cedar Flats, passing several emerald pools and a waterfall. On the return by way of lollipop loop, encounter Opal Pool and Opal Pool Falls, before returning to the trailhead along the Little North Santiam River.
