Activity Notes

Located in the Coast Range, this hike starts with a steep, rugged trail gaining 2000' in the first two miles to the summit of Elk Mountain.  Later we'll make a bushwhack to gain the ridge of Peak 3270, one of the highest in the area. Once back to trail it's an easy hike back down to the cars.

Due to the steep grade, off-trail hiking, and the potential for snow and ice this time of year, this hike is recommended for the more experienced, sure footed hiker.
