This is an A level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. A level hikes are easy or less strenuous hikes with less than 8 miles in distance and less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

We celebrate the winter solstice by starting at Frog Lake SnoPark and traveling to Lower Twin Lake and take a snack break. Then continue on the Twin Lake Loop Trail to Upper Twin Lake for lunch. If there is sufficient snow, we'll descend via the Upper to Lower Twin Lake drainage and return to our starting point. If there isn't much snow, we'll probably continue up over Bird Butte and return to Fog Lake via the PCT. Meeting location: Gateway Park & Ride.
