Activity Notes

Come along for a snowshoe in wilderness. Views of Mt Hood with the winter landscape. 7.5 miles RT, 2500'. Drive 180.

The first snowfall is a great time to study animal tracks, so our focus will be print identification. This route offers great opportunities to see sign, but especially snowshoe hare, elk, and bobcat.

<br> Required: Snowshoes and headlamp. Hikers must stay on route and respect wildlife (ORS 498.006). Winter capable vehicle required if driving.

Note: Trip begins and ends at the trailhead. Meet others at Gateway Transit Center for self-selected carpooling. Mazamas suggested carpool donation is $0.10/mile, or $18 for 180 miles.
