Great endurance hike begins with the hike in to Ramona Falls, then continuing up the Timberline Trail to the Yocum Ridge junction, climbing through dense forest to a high alpine meadow with unparalleled views of the west side of Mt. Hood. Head around the ridge for a little more climbing to get up even closer to the mountain. Portland Hikers Link

Activity Notes

This is one heckuva hike. Come along for a *STRENUOUS* daylong expedition up Mount Hood’s quietest and most beautiful flank.  We’ll hike up to Ramona Falls, stop for a break and then begin our (gradual) ascent up the side of the ridge to gorgeous meadows and spectacular views on all sides. Along the way, you'll be treated to geological musings from Hike Leader Lauren to further increase the wonder and mystery of mighty Mt. Hood! On the way home, if there's interest, we’ll stop for food in Zigzag. Prepare for a very long day with some of the most beautiful scenery in Oregon. As this is a Wilderness Area, hike will be capped at 11 participants + the leader. Semi-exploratory. ~17 miles, 3800 feet elevation gain. Drive: 90 miles r/t.  Depart Gateway Park and Ride at 7:15am.
