From the Ramona Falls trailhead, head up trail that parallels the Sandy River. Cross over the Sandy and make your way up to Ramona Falls (you have the option of two trails, but each lead to the same place; one offers more views, while the other offers more forest). Once at Ramona Falls, take the Timberline Trail east. You'll have a more difficult crossing of the Sandy River, then head to Paradise Park (Paradise Park is a worthy side trip). After Paradise Park, you'll drop into ZigZag Canyon and then climb back out for rugged views of Mississippi Head. There will then be a short descent into Little ZigZag before climbing back up to Timberline Lodge.
