Activity Notes

Join us for one of the best day-hiking loops on Mount St. Helens. This trail offers an excellent loop through a continually changing volcanic landscape, and you get it all on this hike: old-growth forest, big-time views, alpine splendor, dramatic canyons, meadows and creeks. For the geology buffs, this area also offers views of the edge of the blast zone from the 1980 eruption. Meet inside the parking structure at Gateway Transit Center at 9:00 am. We will arrange carpools once everyone has arrived. If you don't have a car, take the MAX or bus to Gateway and join a carpool when you arrive. Passengers please bring $7-10 in gas money for your driver.
