The West face Gully route is an alternate to the popular Avalanche Gulch south side route. It has fewer people and about the same moderate technical requirements.

Get an early start on this route to get firm snow conditions.

Activity Notes

We will meet Saturday morning in Shasta City. You will need to drive down Friday night (6 hours). Consider staying at Motel 6 in Weed. Monday, we will hike out to trail head by noon. Drive home that afternoon.
