Activity Notes

Join us at the MMC for a members’ screening of a new 25-minute documentary on Jeff Thomas, the Portland climber whose vision helped shape Pacific Northwest rock climbing. The film follows Jeff from boyhood summers in the High Sierra with his father, Bill, to the “blank canvas” of Oregon’s climbing scene in 1970, and on to his foundational routes at Beacon Rock, Broughton Bluff, and Smith Rock. Jeff will be on hand with fellow climbers Bill Ramsey and Alan Watts, both renowned Smith Rock climbers, so come ready to catch up with old friends and swap stories.

Proceeds from this event go to support the Mazama Library and Historical Collection.
