Devil’s Rest via Angel’s Rest

29 August 2026

(This is the first of three hikes that go to Devil’s Rest, each with a very different route)

Activity Notes:

Hike to Devil’s Rest via Angel’s Rest.

8.25 miles, 2320 feet of elevation gain (Grade B)

We’ll get an early start heading up towards Angels Rest, stop for a view and continue on up to Devils rest through lush 2nd growth forest.  For the upper portion, we’ll make a ‘lollipop route’ out of it, approaching Devil’s Rest from the West.  Trail #415 will take us along the top of the bluff, before heading up along Devil’s Fork and Foxglove Way to reach the top of Devil’s Rest.  The way down will take us south along the She Devil trail and looping back to Angel’s rest and finally back down to our starting point.

Pace: Level 2 (2 to 2.5 mph) moderate pace, with time for breaks and enjoying the scenery.

We’ll carpool from the Gateway Transit Center, meet at 7:30 am, departing at 7:40 am.  Or, alternately, meet at the Angel’s Rest trail head at 8:10 am.  Expect to return to the Gateway transit center by 3 pm.
