Activity Notes
A less visited peak in the Yacolt Burn State Forest, Three Corners Rock offers similar views to Silver Star with fewer demands on hikers to reach them. This hike is just over 4 miles and around 1200' of gain, on the friendly grade of the PCT for most of the hike.
We'll hike at 2 mph or faster for the duration, aiming to complete the hike in 2 hours or less. Benchmarks for this pace would be Ramona Falls in 3.5 hours, Angel's Rest in 2.5 hours, or Hamilton Mountain in 3 hours. If you don't know your pace, consider timing yourself on one of the benchmark hikes or walking on a treadmill at 10-15% incline.
We'll carpool from the MMC at 2:30 PM and reach the Rock Creek Pass Trailhead by 3:45 PM. A Washington Discover Pass is required for parking.
This is an exploratory hike, meaning the leader has not done this hike before.
