Activity Notes

Come exploring with me! This is an exploratory hike, meaning that I have not done this hike before. While this is on established trails and I will do my research beforehand, there may be unexpected encounters with fallen trees, overgrown debris, small creek crossings, light route-finding/scrambling, etc. Please have an open mind and be excited for adventure!

Out-and-back on Larch Mountain in the Gorge. This trail is supposed to feature large old-growth trees up 6 or 7 feet in diameter! Since we're up there, we'll also do the short trip to Sherrard Point and its (weather dependent) 5-volcano viewpoint!

I've gotten info of blowdown and light bushwhacking likely due to light use.

Carpool from Rock Haven at 8:00AM or you can meet us at Larch Mountain TH at 8:45AM. NWFP required. Suggested gas contribution is $6/passenger.

8 miles, 1600' gain, 4000' high point

***Life is stressful, especially for minorities and marginalized people. But there's lots of studies showing that spending time outside with good company is good for the body and the mind! Therefore, I invite everyone to join me on my hikes!
