Activity Notes
Come exploring with me! This is an exploratory hike, meaning that I have not done this hike before. While this is on established trails and I will do my research beforehand, there may be unexpected encounters with fallen trees, overgrown debris, small creek crossings, light route-finding/scrambling, etc. Please have an open mind and be excited for adventure!
Out-and-back on the less-visited upper part of the Salmon River. I've enjoyed hiking the lower part for years and have always wondered what's upstream.
This hike will feature multiple small creek crossings. Reports include some down trees but not enough to obscure the trail.
Carpool from Rock Haven at 7:00AM or you can meet us at the EAST Salmon River TH at 8:15AM. No pass required. Suggested carpool contribution is $10/passenger.
11 miles, 1800' gain, 3500' high point
***Life is stressful, especially for minorities and marginalized people. But there's lots of studies showing that spending time outside with good company is good for the body and the mind! Therefore, I invite everyone to join me on my hikes!
