Out-and-back to Elk Mountain with an additional loop around Elk Meadows on Mt. Hood. Hopefully we'll get to see some good flowers!

I have done most of this trail but not all of it.

This hike involves crossing Newton Creek. Last year a few people got across dry but most of us got wet.

Carpool from Rock Haven at 7:00AM or you can meet us at Elk Meadows TH at 8:15AM. No passes required (holiday). Suggested $11/passenger gas contribution.

7.5 miles, 1600' gain, 5500' high point
