Activity Notes
This lollipop loop hike begins with a casual walk past boulders and towering fir and pine trees for about a mile. We will descend to the Sandy River, and carefully find our way across the river. (Please note, this is a large river crossing and usually requires balancing across logs or boulders over moving water.) From here we continue along a mossy trail that follows beside a clear mountain stream, under the forest canopy until we find ourselves at the renowned Ramona Falls. After a generous lunch break, we follow the PCT back to the Sandy River crossing, and trace our steps back to the trailhead.
This hike is approximately 7 miles and 1000ft of elevation gain.
Here is the map and the elevation profile.
Information on safely crossing streams. We will reschedule to a later date if the water crossing seems unsafe.
