Activity Notes
Help the lodge get ready for summer! We will be hosting our classic workday, with our spring agenda focusing on resetting the lodge after winter.
The Lodge will open up starting at 5pm on Saturday, May 23rd, for those who would like to stay the night before. If you plan to come up, please email Chris Jaworski (mazamalodge@mazamas.org) who will be our host that evening.
The workday is Sunday, from 9am-4pm. Attached you will find a pdf of the various projects throughout the Lodge. We have projects for all skill levels, from more technical work around the facility to cleaning and picking up fallen limbs around the property.
A taco bar lunch will be served around 1pm, which will include options for most common diets, including Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten Free. If you have other specific allergies, we will try to accommodate with what we have but please come prepared for your own special needs.
The work day generally wraps up around 4pm, where we will take a lovely group photo.
For those interested, the Lodge will remain open through Monday morning for those who would like to stay. Bedding is not provided, so please bring your sleeping bag and a top sheet if you prefer for the mattresses. We will not be serving additional meals, however all who stay are welcome to our lunch leftovers!
Thank you again for joining us this weekend. The Lodge represents the home of the Mazamas on Mt Hood - and without volunteers like you - the Mazamas and our Lodge could not be successful!
Please note, all volunteers will need to have completed the volunteer waiver. You did this online if you registered for the work party. Family & Guests are welcome, but will also be required to complete the waiver. Copies will be available on site.
Our workday will constitute the following:
- Removing and storing shutters
- Cleaning - public spaces, restrooms, kitchen
- Organizing - Storage spaces (Tools, Kitchen, general, etc)
- Outdoor Cleanup of Mazama Ski Hill and Grounds
- Some maintenance tasks as supplies are available to include painting and repairs.
