Activity Notes
A hike up Silver Star Mountain from its south ridge. This route starts lower on the road and converges with the more popular Grouse Vista trail just before the Indian Pits, providing a little more distance a 1000' more elevation gain. Total stats should be around 8 miles and 2800' of gain. Hopefully we'll get a clear day with an excellent five peak view and maybe even be able to enjoy early wildflower blooms.
This is an afternoon hike. We'll meet at the MMC at 2 PM to carpool. Hikers who opt not to carpool should meet at the trailhead at 3 PM.
This hike will be an exploratory hike, meaning the leader has not hiked this trail before. Hopefully there will be slightly less annoying scree than the Grouse Vista trail!
