Activity Notes

From Oregon Hikers: "Large open meadows, heavily wooded mixed forest, and a ridgetop ramble take you to a former lookout site with spectacular views of the Hood River Valley." The hike covers about 9 miles with 2700 feet of gain. We'll aim for an average pace of 2.25 mph.

I have not done this one before which in Mazamas parlance makes it an "exploratory" hike.

Since the trailhead is a 90 minute drive from Portland, we'll get an early start so we can be back by mid-afternoon. We'll carpool from the MMC departing at 7 am or you can meet us at the trailhead at 8:30.
