Activity Notes
We'll combine two hikes that offer spectacular, less-visited gorge viewpoints. Wind Mountain is a short but steep trail to visit an area of significance to indigenous peoples. 2.5 miles and 1200 feet of elevation gain. Following a 25-minute drive back towards Portland, we'll make our way up to Little Hamilton Mountain as an out-and-back hike. 5 miles and 1600 feet of gain. Note, the usual access to the Hamilton Mt trail has been closed for a few months due to a landslide. If it has not reopened in time for this hike, the detoured route adds about one mile.
We'll carpool from the MMC departing at 7:30 am or you can meet us at the Wind Mountain trailhead at 8:30. A Washington Discover Pass is required for parking at the Hamilton Mountain trailhead.
