This is an A level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. A level hikes are easy or less strenuous hikes with less than 8 miles in distance and less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

Tillamook area hike, approximately 6 miles 900 ft of elevation gain. The trail is 4 miles RT with an additional couple of miles walking the beach. All of the elevation gain is on the way out. Even though this is an A level hike, the trail has erosion with loads of exposed tree roots. Once at the beach, I find it difficult to walk in sand with hiking boots, historically done barefoot. Opportunity for a long break on the beach. One should be comfortable with these conditions. Beach typically can be windy. Mindfulness equates non conversational on the trail.

i will need willing carpool drivers for the hike to run. Meeting at Sunset Transit Center for a 7:30am departure.
