This is an C level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. C level hikes are difficult or strenuous hikes with either over 15 miles in distance or over 3,000 feet elevation gain. C level hikes require you to apply; once you apply you will receive an email within a few days letting you know if you have been accepted onto the hike.

Activity Notes

An ambitious hike of 15 miles and nearly 4400' of gain up Green Canyon Way/Hunchback Trail to Devil's Peak and returning via the Salmon River. Devil's Peak sits at just over 5000' of elevation and will likely be holding some snow. Be prepared for an early start and to move quickly where we can, maintaining a pace of 2-2.5 mph uphill and around 2.5 mph in the flats all day.

We'll carpool from the MMC at 7 am and meet at Green Canyon Campground at 8:15 am to start hiking.
