Deschutes River Trail

Activity Notes

Just east of The Dalles, the Deschutes River enters a deep desert canyon with trails

following the river's east bank. We will hike to the Ferry Springs Trail up and over the

slopes above the river then down the basalt rock formations and continue upriver.

Our hike will take us between 10 and 14 miles, depending upon the weather and our

desire. Minimal elevation gain of 500' to 800'.

Drive 175 miles round trip.
