This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes
Starting from the Zigzag Ranger Station, this trail climbs steeply for 1.9 miles, gaining over 2,000 feet in elevation to a viewpoint. Leaving the viewpoint, the trail traverses the Hunchback ridgeline to just before the junction with the Green Canyon Trail.
Hike covers 9 miles total with 3500 feet of elevation gain. Drive is 85 miles round Trip
