Activity Notes
This will be an out-and-back on the Bonanza Trail to/from Huckleberry Mountain's view of Mt Hood. I last hiked this in May 2025 and found it to have even more peak rhododendrons than the Boulder Ridge trail I've used other years. We will hike 11.8 miles, gaining 3,475', and on the way we will pass a mine shaft which we will not enter. Another potential hazard is a stream crossing that was no problem in May 2025.
Carpooling is important as our trailhead has very low capacity. We will gather at Clackamas Town Center MAX parking garage 07:30. Directions can be viewed at https://maps.app.goo.gl/krqagyMBmAAicjKX8. After a restroom stop along the way, we will likely begin our hike around 08:45.
