Activity Notes
This popular 4.2-mile round-trip snowshoe offers a moderate winter outing through stunning old-growth forest to a frozen mountain lake. Starting from Frog Lake Sno-Park (Oregon Sno-Park permit required), you'll climb steadily for 1.5 miles on the well-marked Pacific Crest Trail, gaining about 670 feet through towering hemlocks and firs. At the PCT junction, turn onto Twin Lakes Trail and descend a pleasant half-mile to Lower Twin Lake, where you'll find the frozen lake surrounded by snow-draped trees.
MEET at MMC - Leave at 8:00 - Drive is about 120 miles round trip
