Activity Notes
Ring in 2026 with a memorable nighttime hike to Angel’s Rest. We’ll leave the trailhead at 10pm to reach the summit before midnight, just in time to celebrate the new year together with views of fireworks off in the distance.
This is an out-and-back trail with 4.5 total miles and 1,489 feet elevation gain. This adventure is recommended for hikers who are familiar with the Angel’s Rest trail. There are a few rocky parts and one small bit of scramble before the summit. The summit itself can be windy and has some exposure, but we’ll take extra care and stay safe as a group.
This nighttime outing is highly weather-dependent. We’ll go if it’s cold, but we’ll skip it if it’s rainy or icy for everyone’s safety.
Experience the Gorge in a whole new way, and start the year with good company in nature.
Required gear: strong headlamps with extra batteries.
