Activity Notes
Okay gang,
As an introduction to your snow skills, we will give you some time to practice using crampons, donning and doffing them efficiently, how to use your ice axe, and how to glissade safely. If there is time we will also introduce you to rope team travel basics.
You will now need to rent snow skills gear (such as boots, crampons, and ice axes) and we recommend keeping them for a couple weeks since your Snow Skills Field Session is the following weekend. Please bring all of your technical climbing gear and safety equipment, and clothing necessary to keep yourself warm in the snow. Rain pants are highly suggested for the glissade practice. Please bring a fresh change of dry clothes to wear on the ride home.
A annual Northwest Forest Pass ($30) ordered online or at REI is required at the Tilly Jane Trailhead.
