The BCEP Navigation is typically an in the field practice sessions for navigation skills learned during a BCEP lecture. This session may be held at Mt. Tabor or another location. See individual class session for location.
Activity Notes
This is the our first in-person BCEP session! We will begin our class by teaching you the fundamentals of map and compass navigation in an evening training session. This basic navigation course will take you through some fun exercises in Mt. Tabor.
No need to pack a ton of gear; just bring a headlamp, your compass, the navigation paperwork and a pen, a clipboard, the clothing you need to keep yourself dry and comfortable, and comfortable hiking shoes.
The skills you will learn tonight will be used on every hiking/training session for the rest of the BCEP course. This breakout session will likely only take you around 90min to complete. We can grab a beer afterwards.
