Activity Notes

Come exploring with me! This is an exploratory hike, meaning that I have not done this hike before. While this is on established trails and I will do my research beforehand, there may be unexpected encounters with fallen trees, overgrown debris, small creek crossings, light route-finding/scrambling, etc. Please have an open mind and be excited for adventure!

Out-and-back to the headwaters of Gales Creek, which flows through Forest Grove and into the Tualatin River. We'll see a few small waterfalls along the way. There are supposed to be a few narrow sections and small creek crossings.

I am interested in this trail because my wife and I went to Pacific University in Forest Grove and I have driven and run past Gales Creek many times and would love to see its headwaters and feel some nostalgia.

Carpool from Sunset Transit Center at 7:15AM or you can meet us at Gales Creek TH at 8:00AM. Suggested gas contribution is $7/passenger. No passes required.

With the shorter days, I would like to try to keep a consistent pace on this hike.

Expect rain and possibly light snow.
