Activity Notes

Prindle Mountain is part of a small network of informal trails west of Archer Mountain. The trails pass below a dense canopy of trees, offering a healthy amount of elevation gain  on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge.

The highlights of this trail are sections of old-growth forest and some good viewpoints, assuming the trails out to the viewpoints are safe.

There is likely to be some overgrown and lightly maintained trail sections, so long pants and possibly gaiters are recommended. There is also  likely to be some loose and slippery rocks as well, since the trail ascends and then descends somewhat steeply through some areas of rock slide.

This is an exploratory hike for the leader.

We will meet at 8 AM at the Mazama Mountaineering Center (MMC) to organize carpools. The MMC is located HERE.

We will drive to the trailhead (located HERE) and begin hiking around 8:55 AM.

The hike will be approximately 7 1/2 miles with roughly 2200' of elevation gain. Due to the exploratory nature of the hike, the trail conditions and time of year, I am listing this as a "C" hike.
