Activity Notes
About 6-7 miles round trip and 3000 ft elevation gain. The Dog Mountain Trail is one of the most challenging hikes within the Portland Metro area or Columbia River Gorge area. We will be hiking between 2 and 2.5 miles/hour. Expect a great workout with some nice views up-top.
Bring rain gear and non-cotton layers. Poles and gators are recommended. I will check the weather a few days before for other items we might want to bring.
Let me know if you plan to meet at the Mazama Mountaineering Center (527 SE 43rd Ave, Portland) at 7:30 am to carpool or at the Dog Mountain Trailhead at 9 am.
