Hike from High Prairie TH past Lookout Mountain and the Palisades to Flag Point: magnificent views of wilderness and the Cascade Range, wet and dry wildflower meadows, exotic rock formations, the remains of an old lookout and a working lookout tower. Optional scramble @ Palisades
Activity Notes
Enjoy a fall day with some (hopefully) great views of the east side of Mount Hood and the Badger Creek Wilderness. We'll meet at the High Prairie trailhead and bop up to Lookout Mountain before descending to a second breakfast/first lunch at the Pinnacles and then another snack stop at Flag Point. This is a hike with a climb on the way back, be prepared! There should be some larches on display as well as other fall foliage, fungi and views (weather permitting). Expect a 2 mph pace. Suggested carpool donation $15.
