Activity Notes
This is an out-and-back hike in the Columbia River Gorge, with a total of 14 miles and 1,560 feet of elevation gain. Expect creeks, basalt cliffs, waterfalls (including Tunnel Falls) and more waterfalls.
I usually pace my hikes at 1.5 (1.5 to 2.0 mph), however this one is paced at 2 (2.0 to 2.5 mph) since the hike is not steep and the grade is very gentle.
The terrain can be a bit rocky, and it may be wet. Also, there are several narrow sections with vertical drop-offs, most of them have a cable handrail for a sense of security. This hike is likely not appropriate for anyone with a significant fear of heights or anyone unsure of their footing on wet rocks.
