Activity Notes

Come join us for a fun fall hike to Fall Creek Falls on October 19, 2025! This is a well maintained, relatively short, but beautiful trail found in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This can be done as a "there and back" trail, but there is a way to make it a loop. We will be doing the loop! The loop trail is roughly 4 miles roundtrip, and about 850 ft elevation gain, with a view of a 750ft double tiered waterfall at the end of the "there and back" portion.

If you wish to carpool, we plan to meet at the MMC at 8am on Sunday morning. Just a note: we are not allowed to park in the MMC parking lot on Sundays, but there is always plenty of parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We will meet out front of the MMC at the main doors. We can all pile into 2-3 cars and caravan to the trailhead. Parking passes are required at the trailhead. A NW forest pass or interagency pass is required per vehicle. Day passes are $5 and can be purchased at Recreation.gov. There is also a $3 fee both ways for the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks, if coming from Oregon (vs Washington side). If you wish to meet at trailhead, please be at the trailhead by 9:30am. It takes about 1.5 hours to get to the trailhead from the MMC. There is plenty of parking once at the trailhead, as well as pit-toilet bathroom facilities. In my experience, there is broken reception at trailhead and service is very spotty and should not be depended on. There is no potable water available. Please come prepared with water and personal snacks!
