Activity Notes
The first weekend of October can have great weather! Or clouds and rain. We’ll go rain or shine, unless conditions are unsafe (high winds, severe storm, etc)
<br> Climbers should reimburse the leader $20 for their climbing permit upon climb acceptance.
No special gear is needed this time of year. No microspikes, no ice axe, no helmet. We’ll climb as a team and stay well back from the crumbly rim at the summit.
Footwear- shoe gaiters strongly recommended. The route has lots of sand and fine gravel that you don’t want in your shoe. Hiking boots recommended- the lava rocks can really chew up softer trail runners. Something with good grip! The rocks can be slippery if wet.
