Point to point hike (you'll need a car shuttle). From Cloud Cap trailhead you'll utilize the reroute of the trail to cross the long closed area near the snout of the Eliot Glacier. There are several glacier rivers to be crossed on your way to Cairn Basin. Once through Cairn Basin you could choose a side trip to McNeil Point shelter which affords incredible views of the Sandy Glacier. Continue on the timberline trail to the Top Spur trailhead. You may include a short trip around Bald Mountain if desired. t
